When adding new widgets to your reports, you must set your integration accounts to tie the proper data sources with the reports.

There are 2 ways to do this: at the report or widget levels.

Let's review each one and why we recommend one more than the other.

Report or widget level?

Report-level: The account selected at the "report-level" will be applied to all widgets of the same integration, except the widgets that have a "widget-level" account chosen. You can select those in the "Integrations" tab of the report. This is what we recommend by default.

Widget-level: The account selected at the "widget-level" will be applied only to the current widget. This is optional and not recommended if you only have one account per integration in your report. That said, this is a great option if you need to include 2 brands in a single report, for instance.

Why do we recommend report-level accounts first?

Setting your accounts at the report level makes updating or duplicating your reports easier. Let's say you have a client report with GA4 and Instagram data. If you onboard a new client, you can duplicate that report and change the accounts in the "Integrations" tab of the report, and voilĂ , you've got your new client data set and just need to update the name of the report and who you want the report to be sent to. That easy.

If you set accounts at the widget level only, you will have to edit each widget when you want to make similar changes.
